We had originally decided to go out for a coffee. Then I chose a place that had coffee, and wine, so I could get a drink. Then this morning he texts me and asks if I want to meet him at the bar at the hotel, because I had mentioned I liked playing pool. Yeah, I thought maybe you liked beer more than coffee, mister.
So, we met for a drink and a game of pool. I surprisingly wasn't as nervous as my first date with Brian. But that one was the first one in nearly 20 years. So, maybe this will get easier. Plus I have less expectation with this one. I have to increase my risk tolerance with men. Lower expectations on dating, higher expectations on behavior, hopefully will equal a happier me.
Dennis looked like his picture Thank God. Actually better than his picture - because no ones online dating profile picture is good unless you are of course one of those crazy people who get professional pictures for your profile. Weirdos. He was polite. He bought me drinks and paid for pool. he asked me questions about me - he actually took the time to read my profile and knew some of the things I am interested in. That was different from Brian and Michael.
We had a perfectly nice time and I will follow my rule and go on at least 3 dates with someone before making any judgements about them.
He texts me later in the evening and asks if I want to go out again and to tell him when. So, yes, we have a second date. He tells me his only regret is not kissing me at the end of the night - I tell him no regrets, there's always next time.
I'm pretty sure these men make me wait for a kiss so they can be guaranteed a second date.
